About Me
My arms were thinner than the scroll!!
Although unable to train as hard as I wanted to during my early teens due to lack of facilities (and lack of testosterone) in my hometown, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I continued to pursue my passion, reading as much as I possibly could from magazines, books and online sources.
Fast forward to the present, I’m currently studying at the National University of Singapore, actively involved in reporting bodybuilding events and contributing to the fitness and weight training community. And yes, I’m training and eating like a monster now, like how I wish I could when I was younger.
And after lots of struggling and fighting the odds, I’ve successfully transformed that skinny stick you see above into a fairly buffed body. I’m also still gathering as much knowledge as I can and I’m gladly sharing them on Fabodylous.
Speaking of Fabodylous, it has now grown to be the most read and recognised blog in the Malaysian and Singaporean bodybuilding, fitness and weight training community. I blog about tips on training, dieting, motivation and as a specialization, supplementation. I also report local bodybuilding events and post some random and funny posts, because after all, we’re humans.

My vision for Fabodylous is to inspire and guide all who have looked into the mirror and decided to change their body for the better and also youngsters like the 11-year old boy that I was, looking for inspiration. I want to change the fitness and bodybuilding world, making it bigger and more accessible to more people. I also want to bring to light people who have achieved great feats in this growing sport (yes, the idea of this sport is to grow. Pun intended.
).
I want to tell you guys sincerely from the bottom of my heart, that I’m looking for loyal readers and supporters. I want to build a community, where we can share our passion together. So follow Fabodylous, read it often, link us from your site and join our Facebook group. Suggestions, encouragement and constructive criticism are always welcomed. Kindly email them to Fabodylous@gmail.com. With your support, you can bet that I’ll continue writing honest, down-to-earth, and even better and funnier posts.
To anyone who is interested in promoting their products on Fabodylous, you’re welcomed to express your interest. Website statistics, along with any other required information will be shown to you to ensure your confidence in Fabodylous’ advertising strength.
Lastly, thanks for being a loyal reader of Fabodylous and I wish you all the best in your bodybuilding, physique and fitness goals!
Yours truly,
Lai Wee Kiat

Enjoyed reading your blog, keep up the good work!
Thanks Rick!
Cheers!
Hi Wee Kiat,
Just happen to stumble upon your blog. Just to say: Keep Up The Good Work! Great info and layout! And all the best for your studies and bodybuilding pursuits.
Cheers,
Rick
thanks scandalmonger,
To build muscles, the effective rep range is usually 8-12. Keep it there. 20-30 is definitely too high to build muscle.
great info, i learn a lot from your blog.
may I ask one question.
to amplify the size of my arms muscle.
is it better if i take up heavier weighs but I do less reps ( 8-12 reps) .
or lighter but doing more reps ( 20-30 ).
suggestions?
thanks!!
Hi Wee Kiat,
I've dropped you a message via your blog, I look forward to your response!

Another Singapore reader here. Chanced across your blog after reading about your journey to Mr KL over on STOMP (congrats on placing 2nd, btw). Some really good advice and I think I'll be coming back again.
The main issue was that I used to be really overweight before, but lost a lot of weight (from 90kg to 65kg) over a year or so of using a high-protein, low-med carb diet + lots of exercise.
But now I'm trying to build up more lean mass, and having a bit of difficulty adjusting my diet to do so, because of the fear of putting on fat again
But you have some really good advice here and hopefully it'll inspire me to train harder and try to eat more
Hi wee kiat,
Just found out about your blog from 'Mun's Fitness' and I think yours is kinda cool. Sure I'll visit your blog often.
I'd just created a blog about health too, it's called 'Susu Sejat' primarily focused on well dieting and fitness development. But I majorly wrote in Malay's (I do write in English sometime) since my target audience were the Malaysians generally.
I hope we can work together some time in the future (thru this blogging medium) because it's always be my passion to bring Malaysians, who are now ranked among the most obese and overweight people in South East Asia, to an even better and healthy lifestyle while enjoying our traditional food. Hope to hear more from you soon, cheers!

Thanks man. But did you read the article at all? -_-''
I started at 11 years old.
I trained for 9 years but only 3 of those years are hardcore training. Plus, during the first few years, I received lotsa bad advice. DON'T repeat my mistake and listen to any uncle or auntie's advice. Really, most of it is wrong. Serious. Read the right information from reliable sources -magazines, books, experienced bodybuilders and blogs
.
All the best for your future in bodybuilding too!
Hey your a real inspiration man
I'm 16 and I've wanted to start hardcore bodybuilder for ages. At what age did you start and how long has it took you to get to the size you are today? Thanks heaps if you can answer.
All the best for your future in bodybuilding.
Thanks for your support man. Yea, we need to do something about those keyboard warriors. Hahaha!
Agreed man. Those HWZ people all keyboard warriors and always mislead people. The way they talk make them sound like professional bodybuilders. They qualify as fitness enthusiasts at most, dun seem qualified to be dishing out advice from the bb persepective. Gd luck with your endeavours.
Aww.. I'm so touched by your words. Thanks for the support. And yup, hehe. It's already coming up. You'll see. I don't wanna ruin the surprise.
Agree that you should get a better web layout and a proper domain.
I enjoy reading your blog, would be good if u can get interviews of bodybuilders, or even better, figure competitiors. Hee.
Just wanna say, good job, and keep up with the discipline and lifestyle. Wishing you the best in your body-sculpting dreams.
Cheers!
Alison
yea. working on it. lol. and I feel you when you say HWZ is lousy. Many nobodys trying to act like they are somebody. You can somehow feel that they are fakers. I'm not saying who though.
get a proper domain and set up a forum. not like the hwz ones which are pretty crap, but something like what supplement tracker used to do before it got shut down.
