Enough of This Nonsense!

Recently, I have received several insults, verbal attacks and NONconstructive criticism from people who barely know me. I even have some people adding me on Facebook and instead of

“Hi, I’m *name*. I’m from *place*. Nice to meet you.”

They immediately messaged me or wrote on my wall,

“Honestly, I don’t think you will win”.

What happened to basic courtesy? Makes me think why I accepted you on Facebook in the first place. And honestly, why would a person tell another person that? He is not in the other guy’s shoes. He doesn’t understand the pressure of contest preparation that the other guy is handling (cause if he did, he wouldn’t have said that). And most of all, he ISN’T BEING NICE OR HELPFUL… AT ALL!!

If any of you criticisers are reading this, READ EVERY WORD OF THE NEXT PARAGRAPH!!

No one goes into a contest knowing he will 100% win or lose. Neither do I. So stop telling me that I will lose. You’re an outsider and you don’t know me. People who DO know me are encouraging me and win or lose, they are behind all the way. And these guys include local (Malaysian and Singaporean) champions. Who are YOU? Am I supposed to pull out of the competition now just because I don’t get the approval of you flaming wannabes?

No way in hell!

I’d rather be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right.

    What a douche.

  2. Yu-Kym: Well, I don't wanna be too unfriendly. Haha. Thanks. I like the way you put it.

  3. That's why I don't usually add people whom I don't know in person to my Facebook.

I hope you'll win the competition after killing so many chickens :)

  4. Thanks a lot you guys for the support! Do email me and tell me who you really are. :) Fabodylous@gmail.com

Don't need to feel sad for me lzen. Cause in times like this, I can tell who are really my supporters and friends. ;)

And to the people from LYN, haha, screw those forum bullies! They are heading nowhere and achieving nothing. They are not worth my time.

And yes, come 20th June, I'll prove they are just big talkers flaming and being mean just to feel good of themselves and make others feel like shit!

And thank you to the one calling me an inspiration to junior bodybuilders. Haha. I don't look at myself being that great but I'll try my best to prove that with dedication and intelligence, any teenager can achieve the body of their dreams!

Lastly, thank you all for the wishes for Mr KL!

Train hard and I wish you all the best for your physique goals!

    Take care.

    Regards,
    Wee Kiat

  5. Feel sad for you. Good part is: you don't know them personally. So.. ahem screw them. Move on. Good luck.

Hey, you should ignore those who always bring you down for no reason. They are just insecure about their position, how a junior like you are better than them by a mile.
Anyway, keep on going and wish you all the best for your upcoming competition.
You are a inspiration those junior bodybuilders out there !!

Yes, do your best so you can prove them wrong. They are not hater anyway. They just like to be in their position now, superior forum complex. If you are new and you showed that you are more than average, they will start to flame you.

Why? Because they are scared that the junior will take that superior position. Just like what happened to previous guys who claim to lift certain amount of weight. Flame then started, saying that this guy doing it wrong and must do it without spotter and bla bla. Well this guy actually can lift not far from that weight he claimed without spotter. But instead of motivational support, he was getting flamed. Well.. Newbie friendly my ass.

    Hi weekiat
I wanted to congratulate you on your dedication to our sport and wish you all the best for your coming contest. Don't pay too much attention to criticism. Just train and diet hard and try to be the best you can be. And even if you don't win, you'll be the winner for having beaten your previous self, be in the best shape ever and having gained invaluable experience and knowledge.
Personally I think you're doing great! So keep up the good job and good luck to you!

dude, dont worry about the naysayers man. i was once a scrawny guy and lifted heavy weights. there were many people who seemed to give me looks of disapproval and their words seemed to suggest that i couldnt make it. but today, these guys dont say anything more. :)

go for it man. win or lose, its still a hell of an experience. an experience that most of those naysayers probably have never been through!

When you put yourself out there, there will always be haters. The people who just bitch and never give any kind of constructive criticism.

I know it's hard to ignore these idiots, but ignore them you must.

They're not worth the time and energy.

  11. Thanks for the encouragement bro! Very optimistic and realistic view you have there.
Yea, in such hostility, it's true friends, family and ppl like you who keep me going.

Haha. And that's right, screw them keyboard warriors!

Honestly I dont see why one shouldnt participate in a competition just because he isnt at the level of a IFFB Pro. I mean common man guys, those who really read up on bb knows that the pros spend years of dedication on training, food, and (ahem.. steroids) to reach the physiques which they have at present. Sad to say, the general population thinks that as long as u lift weights and take a simple PWO shake, you can attain that sort of physique in a very very short time. Sorry guys, it does not work that way. Look at Dextor jackson when he was still young! Or Flex.

Anyway weekiat, all the best to you, I dun think you need to prove anything to the shit talkers out there. Its only about reaching the personal goals which you set to attain.

Perfectly understandable bro, thats the mentality of Lowyat, and malaysian gym rats in general
If you put yourself outhere, you gotta make sure you're really good else you will be faced with lots of hostility.
It's the same reason people will criticize when they see someone 'lifting heavy' but not looking the part, immediately they'll pin point how he shouldn't be lifting it. its not cause of good intentions i'll tell you that.
as far as i see it, you're doing a lot better than most of them. lots of them aren't competing so you shouldn't worry about what they think.
