Why Massages Are So Awesome!

24 Jul

So it was pre-contest period, 1-4 weeks from Mr Kuala Lumpur 2013. And how was I feeling? Like crap! Back’s aching, neck’s stiff and I had a tough time sleeping every night. Well, thank goodness for the existence of massages! After a good, relaxing deep-tissue massage to loosen up those muscle fibres, BAM, I just fall on bed, snoring away to a good night’s sleep.

Victory At Mr Kuala Lumpur 2013

01 Jun

Whoever said that the first victory is the sweetest is totally right. Especially when you didn’t expect it at all even though you trained and dieted strictly for it. And yeah, that’s kinda ironic. Who is willing to put 100% of their effort into a contest which they don’t expect to win? Well, maybe that actually helped me win the title of Mr Kuala Lumpur 2013 Champ of Champs (Above 70kg). I was calm going into the contest. I told myself, “No matter what happens, I’ll accept the outcome and learn from it. And I’m still going to have an awesome food trip on Monday!” Because of this mindset, I actually had great sleep the night before the event! Heck, I actually slept DURING the event, when the earlier categories were being contended.

Lessons I’ve Learnt From My Contest Prep

19 May

As of now, I’m 8 days out from competing on the Mr Kuala Lumpur 2013 stage. And I don’t want to just post updates of how I’m doing and make things all about myself. I want to share my experience so that others may learn from it too. 🙂 So here are 5 things I’ve learnt from this contest prep so far. I wish there were more, but hey, I’m on low carbs, so you’ll have to forgive me for not being able to think at 100% capacity.

25 Apr

Alright, I know I’ve said I’ll update my progress on Fabodylous every 2 weeks but I failed to do so. Sorry about that. I was focusing on my personal training career, my awesome video-sharing fan page, Passiontab.com (you MUST check it out), covering the entire Mr Singapore 2013 event recently and of course, actually dieting and training for Mr KL itself!

Here I am, 5 weeks out. 78kg. Veins starting to pop out. And yea, I know you love my backdrop.
